ABOUT |
“Castles in the Air” is an event about exploring patterns, shapes and structures in two-dimensional and three-dimensional space. The event made use of the Web and the other networking technologies to mediate with the mediums of the arts and the crafts. It also used a modular device called ‘Jodo’ (to join) to facilitate the manipulation of shapes and structures that are based on geometric principles. At the end, all these inputs emerged in the form of a large installation on the theme of shapes, structures and patterns. The event was held as a workshop that will receive inputs from painters, sculptors, tribal artists, installation artists, communicators, industrial designers, physicists and technologists. Apart from the facilitators and the participants present at the workshop-venue, the use of the Web enabled online participation, through the exchange and interaction of inputs on the given theme, from communities from around the world, including from those in India with Internet facilities.
