Basic Solids:
There are five basic solids, actually first discovered by the ancient Greeks. Plato drew and wrote about these solids and hence they are also known as Platonic solids. According to the number of their sides they are called different names:

Four faces - Tetrahedron 4 corners 6 edges
Six sides - Hexahedron ( hexahedron is also called the cube derived fron Greek word for a gambling dice) 8 12
Eight sides - Octahedron 6 12
Twelve sides - dodecahedron and 20 30
Twenty sides - Icosahedron 12 30

The interesting factor about these solids are the fact that similar ones can be stacked one next to another without leaving any gap to form close packing. We can also combine two or more of these solids to get a few more interesting shapes.

Form and pattern are sections that will be completed as part of the event on 7th, 8th and 9th of September.
